Last week, the Eng-Inc EUProject consortium had the opportunity to get together for an on-site management meeting at the FAU, and the NHR@FAU contributed to their program: Johannes Veh (Head of Support) gave them a guided tour around the state-of-the-art clusters at NHR@FAU.
The curious participants got to see parts of our infrastructure in action, including our newest cluster, Helma, as well as the supercomputer Fritz, which has been a reliable pillar of our resources for quite some time now. During their visit, the consortium got some insight into the cluster structure and the cooling system. Also, their tour guide Johannes explained relevant use cases for the massive computing power and delivered firsthand information about future expansion plans for the infrastructure. Dr.-Ing. ENG-INC is a project, funded by the European Union, to strengthen higher education in engineering. The consortium had its second on-site meeting organized by Dr.-Ing. Loui Al Sardy (Head of the Network Security Research Group, INF7), bringing together international project partners to analyze their previous project accomplishments, plan further events, and network within the consortium. And a team’s ties can also be strengthened by extracurricular activities like the field trip. So we thank all the participants for joining our guided tour and for their curiosity!
