The 3rd International Workshop on Energy Efficiency with Sustainable Performance (EESP) will take place in November 2026 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in conjunction with the IEEE/ACM SC26 Conference (The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis) and is aimed at providing a platform for exchanging practical approaches, ideas, and techniques for energy efficiency when working with artificial intelligence and modern high-performance computing systems.
Call for papers
Anyone interested in the topic of energy efficiency is warmly invited to send in their paper submissions by the deadline on July 25, 2026 (AoE).
Your ideas will find a diverse and knowledgeable audience of system designers, operators, application developers, and researchers actively shaping energy-aware HPC and AI infrastructures. Submissions will be part of the IEEE/ACM SC workshop proceedings published via IEEE Xplore and have a chance to win the best paper award. Selected contributions may be invited to submit extended versions to a special journal issue in the International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications (IJHPCA).
The workshop is organized by General Chair Ayesha Afzal and her program co-chairs Natalie Bates/EE HPC WG, USA, Bronis R. de Supinski/LLNL, USA, and Hatem Ltaief/KAUST, Saudi Arabia.
Keynote speech
Last but not least, the workshop will feature Prof. Andrew A. Chien (University of Chicago) as a featured speaker. He will present “Holistic Power Efficiency: Squeezing Computing out of Every Watt”, discussing end-to-end datacenter energy efficiency, AI-driven power demand, and cross-layer approaches to reduce energy use and emissions.
Find out more about the workshop objectives, the submission guidelines, and a full abstract of the keynote speech at the official EESP SC26 page <https://ayeshaafzal91.github.io/eesp>.
