From June 22-26, the ISC High Performance 2026 will be held in Hamburg again, and the NHR@FAU will present a diverse program of tutorials, lectures, and interactive sessions focusing on performance engineering, modern HPC architectures, and sustainable procurement strategies.

  • First up is a tutorial on “Performance Engineering for Sparse Linear Solvers” by Georg Hager (NHR@FAU), Jonas Thies (TU Delft), and Hartwig Anzt (TU Munich). On Tuesday, Ayesha Afzal is participating in a BoF session on “HPC Procurement, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability” as a speaker in collaboration with other centers and universities.
  • On Wednesday Georg Hager will host an invited session on the topic of “On-Chip Networks.”
  • In addition, the NHR Alliance booth will feature a series of sofa talks again. NHR@FAU sessions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday on the topics “AI benchmarking on HPC”, “Cluster Cockpit” tool and “Elevating Women’s Careers in HPC.” Everyone is welcome to join us, so we invite anyone interested to visit the joint booth.
  • Furthermore, Eric Schnepf (ISC Group) and Gerhard Wellein (NHR@FAU) will discuss current developments in the fields of HPC, AI, and quantum computing in Europe during the session “HPC Around the World: Europe” on Thursday.
  • Also worth noting is the Women in HPC Poster Pitch, hosted by NHR|WHPC Chapter founder Ayesha Afzal, as well as poster contributions and several panel sessions with our participation. A poster by Ayesha Afzal, Georg Hager, and Gerhard Wellein at the Research Poster Reception will show “Wattlytics,” an interactive tool for planning cluster procurements.
  • Last but not least, we are mentoring the joint Swiss-German team “FAUSION” again, competing at the Student Cluster Competition.
