Massive expansion of computing power for AI research

On April 23rd, the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts in Munich launched a massive expansion of AI computing capabilities for science and research in Bavaria. NHR@FAU and Megware signed a contract for the delivery of a new AI supercomputer to FAU. The new system will house more than 1,000 NVIDIA B200 chips and will further boost our excellent AI capabilities in Erlangen. We are looking forward to a strong partnership with the scientists of the Bavarian AI foundation model project.

The Bavarian AI foundation model project is also supported by the AI research network BAIOSPHERE.
