HPC-Café – chat, get advice, and have some coffee

The next HPC Café takes place on Tuesday, January 14th at 4 pm.

The HPC Café is a new offering to complement our established contact channels and training events. Every second Tuesday of the month this is an opportunity to to get to know each other. On demand we will offer short talks about anything HPC related, from running job scripts to performance issues. The first half will be a general discussion for new users and HPC beginners. In the second half the focus will be put on advanced or application-specific topics. The HPC Café is also an informal platform to give feedback or talk about general requests. You can help us to plan the event by registering (anonymously) at this DFN Terminplaner Poll.

In January, Tobias Klöffel will share his expertise on software for quantum mechanics. Quantum Chemistry packages such as Quantum Espresso, VASP, and whatever you are using or plan to use at RRZE will be covered. We are happy to receive any user feedback about missing libraries or stuff we should maybe provide as modules, etc.

Even if this is not your research area, the talk will definitely expand your general scientific knowledge. As always, there will be coffee and cake and plenty of time to get in touch with your favorite HPC group.

We look forward to talking to you over some free coffee and cake.
