Dominik Ernst, M.Sc. (Hons.)
Dominik Ernst (m) is a PhD student at FAU and an GPU expert at the NHR@FAU. He recieved a Master’s Degree with Honors from the Bavarian Graduate School of Computational Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. His research combines analytic performance modelling for GPUs and automatic code analysis in support of code generation and kernel execution decisions. His broad background in GPU porting and optimizations in various applications fields includes internships at NVIDIA in Santa Clara and at CERN in Geneva. He has received the PPAM Best Paper Award for his contribution “Performance Engineering for a Tall & Skinny Matrix Multiplication Kernel on GPUs” and a second place award on his ISC PhD Forum Poster on his PhD Research.
