HPC Cluster in a nutshell, created by Microsoft Bing

NHR@FAU has expanded its online beginner’s introduction to using our HPC systems. Starting next week, in addition to the general introduction on Wednesday, we will be offering instructions for AI users that will take place on Thursday – the week in which the HPC Cafe also takes place.

The introduction in detail:

Date and time: Wednesday, November 13, 4:00 p.m.
Title: Using the HPC clusters at NHR@FAU – General Introduction (online)
Abstract: The one-hour General Introduction on using the HPC systems, includes an overview of HPC clusters, how to connect to the systems, how to use the batch system, and more. This well-received format aims at reducing the entry barrier for new and inexperienced users. The content is continuously updated to reflect recent changes in NHR@FAU systems and access rules.

Date and time: Thursday, November 14, 4:00 p.m.
Title: Using the HPC clusters at NHR@FAU – Introduction for AI Users
Abstract: The Introduction for AI Users is aimed at newcomers who plan to run AI workloads on the NHR@FAU system. We will address the following topics: File handling for AI workloads, fast storage options, setting up python environments for AI, setting up containers with Apptainer.

To prepare for Thursday’s launch, we encourage AI users to attend the general intro on Wednesday as well.
