Jupyterhub

Our old Jupyterhub instance at jupyterhub.rrze.uni-erlangen.de/ will soon be turned off. Migrate to the new instances described below!

New Jupyterhub instance (June 2023)

We started setting up a new Jupyterhub infrastructure

  • Jupyterhub for Tier3 HPC accounts (these instances are only reachable from FAU networks including VPN)
    • you have access to
      • 2 cores/4GB on a shared node
      • 1-4  dedicated GTX1080Ti GPUs
      • 1-4 cores (and 8-32 GB) on TinyFAT
    • “paper-based” Tier3 HPC account: directly login in with your HPC username and HPC password on https://hub.hpc.fau.de/jupyter/
    • “portal-based” Tier3 HPC accounts: login to the HPC portal with FAU/SSO and use the button to JupyterHub there in the “External Tools” section on the User tab.
  • Jupyterhub for NHR accounts (this instances is reachable from anywhere)
    • you have access to
      • 2 cores/4GB on a shared node
      • a single A40 or A100 GPU in Alex
      • a single node of Fritz
    • login to the HPC portal with SSO (DFG-AAI/eduGAIN) and use the button to JupyterHub there in the “External Tools” section on the User tab.

The FAU Competence Center for Research Data and Information (CDI) operates another Jupyterhub instance which can be used directly with your FAU IdM account. This instance should be well suited for FAU’s teaching purposes. For details contact forschungsdaten@fau.de.
